Quote
"A strong educational foundation unlocks opportunities beyond the classroom. My intent is to help students realize their dreams and build that strong foundation."
About Me
Education:
B.S. in Physics, Whitworth University
Master in Teaching, Whitworth University
After setting a goal to become an aerospace engineer or astrophysicist and earning a B.S. in Physics at Whitworth University, a family crisis caused me to change the course of my future. Instead of designing spacecraft and studying stars, I redirected my future by becoming a teacher.

Since earning my Masters in Teaching degree in 1997, I have worked with students of all ages and abilities with unique learning needs. Traditional teaching methods didn’t seem to be effective, so I have developed different approaches to help students learn. Coping with central processing disorders, both visual and auditory, gives me the empathy and motivation needed to work with students requiring more effective learning strategies.

My mission is to provide an alternative for parents and students while maintaining educational excellence in a caring, safe, and fun learning environment.
About My Learning Center
Learning is a process and to help with that process, the Education NW Resources Learning Center offers a blend of private school and homeschool with online classes for grades 6-12. Our comprehensive online classes are tailored to address unique learning needs while being supportive and challenging by inspiring and empowering students to achieve their full potential by overcoming barriers to their learning. Students have a wide selection of available classes with 24/7 access so that they can fit their learning according to their individual schedules. The Learning Center also provides a highly qualified and caring Teacher Consultant who supports both the parents and the students and contacts them regularly to ensure that the student has what is needed for a successful academic journey.

Testimonies
“Deborah is awesome! She's been a great teacher for our son and helped make his first year of high school a great one! Deborah is very supportive, encouraging and willing to work with us and our son's individual learning needs and challenges. We're so thankful to have found her!” Paul & Bethany A.

“We have been working with Deborah Knutson at Academy NW for the last few years and have been so pleased. Our son just graduated and I cannot imagine having gotten him to this point without her help. She and I met often, she is easy to talk to and extremely accessible. Her classes related to his interests, while giving him what he needed to graduate. In fact, she was able to work with him on classes related to his future major, and I'm convinced all of this helped him do so well throughout the admissions process landing a scholarship at his first choice school. All that said, I cannot recommend Deborah enough.” April B.
