Robin Summerfelt
Poulsbo Academics
Grades 5 -12
Education:
I have several degrees from four Washington state universities that include Asian Studies, English, Industrial Technology, Home and Family Life/Home Economics.
I teach my students the Theory of Constraint and apply to problem solving and time management.
Robin was born and raised in Seattle but has lived in several regions in Washington State. She has
several degrees but her favorite is vocational education.
During her years teaching in the public schools, she taught English, algebra, high school machine shop, sheet metals, welding, several levels of wood shop, electronics, horticulture, auto shop, sewing, cooking, and even classes on small kitchen appliance
repair!
She enjoys volunteering through Rotary, fly fishing, hiking, sailing, skiing, scuba diving, soaring, master gardening. She especially enjoys her learning center's Hartley Botanic glasshouse, playing in the dirt, working in the shop, photography, riding roller coasters, and working for NSB Design.
Learning Center Format:
Students are seen in classes at least once a week to develop communication skills, establish team-building, collaboration, leadership skills, and to practice time management and the importance of deadlines. I teach beauty and excellence in all work, in preparation for success.
Students may also earn recovery or extra credit that is transferable to their primary school of instruction, which can be done online.
During my 25 years of pursuing this form of education, I have a many adult who have earned their high school diploma; education is limitless and ageless.
My major concern is helping students and families to resolve issues to aid in securing a successful future.
