At Academy Northwest, we're putting learning where it belongs — with the focus on the student as learner and achiever, the parent as the trainer who collaborates with a learning center teacher, and the teacher providing oversight, support, and assessment. This is known as Parent-Directed Education.
As a fully accredited private school and Washington State approved, we offer a distinctive blend of Christian private school and home education oversight in our Extension Program geared specifically toward your family and the learning style of your student.
With multiple teachers in the region and accredited by Cognia, our home education oversight extension program is a "school-without-walls", serving thousands of home educating families with a successful partnership model since 1981.
In addition to our Extension Program operating in a variety of independently run learning centers located across Washington state, Academy Northwest also operates a full-time day school at our Marysville campus. These are all fully recognized and accredited private schools with a very small teacher-student ratio. Students receive an individualized and tailored educational program that integrates a biblical worldview and real-life applications. Our ultimate goal is to empower each student to fulfill their God-given purpose and calling.
Our K-12 private school Extension Program provides enrolled families with:
- Professional support and guidance from an Academy Northwest contracted teacher who is a certificated educator
- Assistance in selecting and adapting curriculum to fit learning styles and academic needs
- Flexible and creative instruction in classes that challenge the student to meet their full potential
- Weekly engaging classes integrated with a biblical worldview
- On-going help and accountability so the student can stay on track and achieve goals
- Regular assessment of progress
- All-school events such as drama productions, special exhibits, and Family Field Studies
